Cresselly Cricket Club was founded in 1887 and below are the minutes of the very first meeting taken from the original book:
A preliminary meeting for the purpose of organizing a Cricket Club for Cresselly and neighbourhood was held at the National Schoolroom, Cresselly, on Friday May 6th 1887 at 7.30pm.
The following attended:- Messrs Thomas John, W.D.John, P.G.Lewis, A.Beynon, R.H.Palmer, A.Davies and C.P.Turl.
Proposed by Mr Thomas John and seconded by Mr W.D.John that Mr P.G.Lewis take the chair - carried.
Proposed,seconded and carried that Mr C.P.Turl be Secretary pro tem.
The following Code of Rules was then drawn up: -
1. That this Club be called the 'Cresselly Cricket Club'.
2. That the Club be managed by a Committee of 9 members including President,Captain and Secretary, three of whom shall form a quorum.
3. That the Committee have the power of filling up any vacancy in their number during the season and that the whole of the affairs of the Club be entrusted to their management.
4. That the subscription be 2/6d.
5. That the recognized colors of the Club be Navy Blue and White.
6. That any member chosen and promising to take part in a match and not doing so shall forfeit the sum of 2/6 unless one day's notice be given to the Secretary prior to each match.
7. That the Laws of Cricket as regulated by the 'Marylebone Cricket Club' be decisive upon all disputes.
8. That the accounts of the Club be audited by the Committee at the end of the season.
9. That the Committee have the power to expel any member who misconducts himself.
10. That the Captain has the power of selecting the eleven and ordering the same on the field. Proposed, seconded and carried that Mr W.D.John order the cricketing articles and that a General Meeting be held at Cresselly Schoolroom on Friday 13th at 7.30pm.

Proposed, seconded and carried that H.S.Allen Esq be asked to become President of the Cresselly Cricket Club.
Proposed, seconded and carried that Mr Thomas John be a V.P and that the Rev J.J.Phillips (Jefreyston) be asked to become a V.P.
