Superb Performance for Ladies!
Cresselly ladies gave a tremendous performance against league leaders Hook on Tuesday night (22/07/08).
Wicket-Keeper Tracy Williams caught Hook’s opener Joanne Kerrison off the bowling of Lucy Johnson during the early stages of the Hook innings. Sam Rossiter gave another top class performance with the bat, getting the maximum 25 before retiring. Louisa Cole had the best bowling figures of the match, bowling 5 overs, 2 maidens, 3 wickets for 13 runs. A strong fielding effort was made by all of the Cresselly team including newcomers Jo Sheff, Joanne Williams and Ruth Izzard who all made there debut for the Ladies in the match. Cresselly restricted the league and cup favourites to a low score of 79 for 5 wickets off 20 overs.
Cresselly’s opener Megan Jenkins top scored with 22 which meant that Cresselly managed to keep up with the batting rate despite loosing a few early wickets. Cresselly required 5 runs off the last ball for to win which created a tense finish to the match. Unfortunately Cresselly did not manage to get the target, but despite the result, Coaches and Captain were immensely proud of their team for the Ladies continued improvement throughout the season.
